3 Prompts That Make AI
Actually Useful at Work

These 5 prompts are ones I actually use with clients—quick wins for busy teams who want real results without the AI fluff.
Copy, paste, and tweak to fit your day.

Prompt #1: Executive Assistant

Use it for: Summarizing meetings, brainstorming, email drafts
Prompt:

“You are my executive assistant with strong writing skills. Summarize the following meeting notes into exactly three bullet points, each with one clear action item. Use professional, concise language suitable for an internal team update. Avoid jargon and filler.“
(Paste in or upload your notes—watch what happens.)

Why it works:

• Sets a role
• Gives structure
• Explains tone
• Tells it what not to do

Prompt #2: Rewrite Without the Jargon

Use it for: Making dense text more readable
Prompt:

“You’re a skilled editor at a business publication. Rewrite the following content so it’s clear and accessible to a non-technical audience. Keep the tone professional but friendly. Eliminate jargon and simplify complex ideas without dumbing them down.”
Bonus Add-On: “Then, provide one-sentence and tweet-length versions of the revised copy.”

Why it works:

• Frames it as “non-technical audience”
• Gives a tone to hit
• Adds an optional multi-format deliverable for more wow

Prompt #3: Social Media Caption Generator

Use it for: Turning content into engaging posts
Prompt:

“You’re a content strategist who specializes in LinkedIn. Based on the following key points, write 3 caption options: one conversational, one more authoritative, and one storytelling-focused. Keep them punchy, human, and scroll-stopping—no corporate fluff.”

Why it works:

• Offers variation for style testing
• Tells it how to sound
• “Scroll-stopping” is a trigger word—it knows what you want
